How do I set the font size of enhanced text? |
| |
Enhanced text is actually an image - not a font. The initial text box will determine the text size. Font size selection is disabled in the enhanced text properties
To change the font size you have to resize the text box itself.
NOTE: You can resize enhanced text proportionally by holding the shift key and the left/right arrow key. Shift + left arrow will reduce the size proportionally, shift + right arrow will increase the size proportionally

- Click on the Fit Image to Label button on the Picture Bar (or choose Fit to Label from the Picture menu).

I made numerous changes to the image and saved the file, but when I reopen the file, the image looks like it did before I made the changes. |
| |
By default, MediaFACE II saves images as a link to reduce the size of each file (i.e. when a project is reopened, the program will follow a path to the image and open it at its original integrity).
SOLUTION: Embed the image by double clicking on the image to open the Image Properties window. Select Embed in the lower right hand corner and resave the project.

How do I import MediaFACE files into MediaFACEII? |
| |
- Open MediaFACE II and select the appropriate blank template (if your MediaFACE file is for a CD label, open a blank CD label template in MediaFACE II)
- Select File > Import > and locate the project you wish to import
NOTE: All objects on the template will be locked by default (you cannot edit them). To unlock the objects, select Edit > Select All >, then Object > Unlock.
If an image is not embedded in the MediaFACE design, you will receive a "CNeatoBitmap::Serialize" error message. This message appears because MediaFACE II cannot establish the link to the original image.
To embed an image in MediaFACE 1.2:
- Open the project in MediaFACE 1.2
- Double click on the image and select the OPTIONS tab
- Under Saving Options you will see Link and Embed

My Printout does not line up with the templates |
| |
- Open a blank version of the template you are working on (File > New)
- Select File > Print Calibration > Print
- Do the test print on a blank sheet of paper, so you do not waste labels
- Line up this test print with the appropriate label stock and measure the offsets with a ruler (i.e. when the paper edges are aligned you will be able to see if the print is too high/low or too far left/right).
- Select File > Printer Calibrate
- The Printer Calibration window will have an X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) offset, plus the option to choose between metric and inches
- Enter the correct numbers into the X and Y offset to move the print to the desired location
NOTE: To move the print to the left you will use a negative (-) number in the X offset, to move the printout to the right, enter the number as it is (do not put a plus (+) sign in front of the number).
To move the print down use a negative (-) number in the Y offset, to move the print up, enter the number as it is (do not put a plus (+) sign in front of the number).
Metric - If you need to move the printout by 2 mm, enter 2.0 into the X or Y offset
Inches - Use the following numbers
" 1/32" = .031
" 1/16" = .062
" 1/8" = .125
" ¼" = .250
Once the numbers have been entered into the X and Y offsets
- select Apply > OK
- go to File > Print Calibration
- print another test page
- Line the new test print up to the label stock
- make any other adjustments if needed
NOTE: The calibration may differ between one template to another. MediaFACE II will remember the last number entered into the X and Y offsets. It is advisable to mark down the calibration settings for the specific template you are using to use for future reference
